Georgina's water birth of Baby Frida

Our little girl Frida Miller Hoskinson joined us Tuesday night 13/3/18 at 5.55pm. Laboured at home from Monday night into Tuesday morning, headed to the birth centre around 9am and had a long, steady build up to a beautiful (but extremely tough!) unassisted water birth, a true Pisces!   She was born 40+6, 3.75kgs, 54cm long and still covered in fuzz and vernix!

Despite all preparations and intentions, I screamed and grunted and moaned and doubted I could do it.....So the most useful calm birth tools for us were everything Ole took away from it to keep me on track. I COULD NOT have kept it together without him. Reminding me to use my working breath and keep my voice low, chin to chest, open throat...the birth positions.....He was amazing and did not leave my side once, he was even in the tub.  THANK YOU SUZANNE.

I also appreciate the very last calm birth track about visualising the birth. I still think this helped encourage Frida to start her journey spontaneously! (We were scheduled for a stretch and sweep the next day!)

We are so in love!
